Breastfeeding Assistance
N.C. Women’s Hospital Lactation Services has board-certified lactation consultants on staff seven days a week. Plus, Spanish interpreting services are available.
The services offered include:
- Prenatal breastfeeding classes answering questions such as:
- Why to breastfeed
- How to breastfeed
- Incorporating your breastfeeding baby into your life
- Information about pumps and storage of pumped milk
- Help with breastfeeding while in the hospital
- Breastfeeding telephone question line
- Outpatient visits for those times when some hands-on help is neede
